How to Buy on Ebay

  • Buying on Ebay is extremely easy; once you have registered you may shop on Ebay.
  • You search for the item that interests you; there may be dozens of items just like that item so you choose the one that is offered at the lowest bid or best quality.
  • Then read the advertisement, this is very important because you will need to know all about the item before you get it home. On Ebay the seller gives you all of the pertinent information regarding the item you want to buy.
  • Bid on the item, you should bid the highest amount you are willing to pay. Ebay places the bid in increments so you may not actually have to pay the highest amount. For instance if you find a book with a starting bid of $.50 and you bid your highest amount of 5.00, if no one bids but you, you get it for $.50 cent. But if someone bids against you and stops bidding after $2.00, you will get the product for 2.00 plus the increment which can be any number. In this scenario if it were 5 cent you would win the object for $2.05
  • After you have bid, you wait to see if you have won the auction, if you win you will receive notification by email, you then go to the Ebay site and pay for the item.
  • Once you have paid, you should receive the item by mail in the allotted time usually 7 to 14 business days.
  • When you receive the item and have checked it to be sure it is the item you bought, in the condition the ad said it was in then you leave feedback for the seller.
